Squad Cozy Lantrn helps PPE buyers, supervisors and curious workers investigate what a marking actually establishes. We focus on the questions that connect a label to a standard, a document trail and a real task.
We do not sell protective equipment, issue certificates, test products or determine legal compliance for a workplace. No guide on this site is a substitute for the complete official text or a competent assessment.
Four checks behind each guide
Establish the scopeIdentify the equipment group, test question and conditions. Distinguish a product standard from a workplace rule.
Identify the frameworkKeep US, EU and UK requirements separate. Marking routes and legal duties are not globally interchangeable.
Follow primary sourcesUse regulators, official standards catalogues and approval records as starting points. A seller’s summary is not the controlling reference.
State the limitationsExplain where fit, condition, compatibility and exposure assessment remain necessary, even when a claim is supported.
Editions and changing requirements
We name standards to help readers find the relevant reference, not to declare a permanently current purchasing edition. Verify the edition and status in the issuing body’s catalogue. Where legal requirements cite a specific edition or provide transition arrangements, read those requirements separately.
A standard’s publication, national adoption, withdrawal and recognition within legislation are different events. We do not imply that a catalogue search alone proves legal acceptance. Some official standards are available only through licensed access; our summaries do not reproduce their complete requirements.
Sources and illustrations
Each technical guide links to authoritative starting points. Those links are informational and do not imply endorsement or affiliation. The generic equipment illustrations show product forms only: they are not photographs of tested items, purchasing recommendations or evidence of certification. Any reference text beside an illustration is an HTML explanation, not a fabricated product label.
Corrections and clarification
If you notice unclear wording, a changed official link or a reference that needs review, use Ask for clarification. Include the page, the sentence and an authoritative source where possible. Do not send confidential workplace records or request emergency advice. We do not promise a response time or a particular revision outcome.
